Custom CNC Turned Brass Pneumatic Coupling Nipple
Description
Product Overview
Our Custom CNC Turned Brass Pneumatic Coupling Nipple is precision-manufactured for pneumatic quick-connect assemblies and fluid power systems. Fabricated via Swiss CNC turning, this knurled brass coupling nipple features an axial internal flow passage, hexagonal wrench flat, knurled adjustment section and cylindrical plug end for fast air-line connection.
We deliver custom pneumatic coupling nipples per customer drawings or samples. As a CNC machining service supplier, we support low-volume prototyping and mass batch production for industrial automation, pneumatic equipment and fluid control systems. All parts pass dimensional inspection to guarantee consistent sealing performance in compressed air circuits.

Material Analysis
We primarily use C36000 Free Machining Brass for pneumatic coupling nipples.
- Excellent machinability: Low cutting force, clean chips, stable performance for high-speed Swiss turning, ideal for knurling, threading and deep internal boring.
- Corrosion resistance: Resists oxidation and moisture in compressed air environment, prevents rust and maintains stable sealing for long service life.
- Good ductility: Anti-cracking under assembly torque; maintains tight seal in repeated quick connect/disconnect cycles.
- Thermal conductivity: Dissipates minor heat generated during compressed-air operation.
- Limitation: Not suitable for strong acid, high-salinity marine environment; we can switch to 316 stainless steel if your application requires stronger corrosion resistance.
Tolerance Capability
Our workshop delivers two tolerance tiers for this pneumatic coupling nipple:
- Standard tolerance (±0.02 mm): For general pneumatic assembly, external cylinder, hex flats, outer knurl profile, non-critical length dimensions. Cost-effective for bulk orders.
- Precision tolerance (±0.005 mm): Applied to insertion plug OD, inner flow bore, thread pitch diameter. This tight tolerance ensures consistent mating with female coupler and minimises air leakage.
We follow ISO 2768 and IT6/IT7 dimensional standards. All critical sealing and mating dimensions are fully inspected before shipment.
Manufacturing Difficulties
- Knurl consistency: Uniform diamond knurl on small brass cylinder. Uneven knurl depth causes poor hand-grip and inconsistent part length in mass runs; we stabilise spindle speed and roller pressure during knurling process.
- Concentricity control: Multi-feature part (knurl section → hex → thread → insertion nipple). Misalignment will cause assembly jamming and air leakage. Single-setup Swiss turning is adopted to reduce concentricity error.
- Internal bore finishing: Smooth inner flow channel, burr-free hole exit. Burr residue inside the air passage risks blocking air flow or scratching sealing rings. Deburring is mandatory for every part.
- Hex broaching stability: Rotary broaching hex on small brass shaft, avoid part deformation and hex angle deviation.
- Batch repeatability: Maintain identical dimension across thousands of coupling nipples, critical for OEM pneumatic assembly line interchangeability.

FAQ
Q1: Can you customise the dimension of brass pneumatic coupling nipple?
A: Yes. Our CNC machining service fully supports custom design. Send your 2D drawing or 3D model. We can adjust outer diameter, bore size, thread type, knurl length and overall length for your pneumatic system.
Q2: What material alternatives are available besides brass?
A: We can machine 303 /316 stainless steel, 6061 aluminum for coupling nipples. Stainless steel fits harsh, humid or corrosive working conditions.
Q3: What is your minimum order quantity?
A: No strict MOQ. We accept prototype orders of 1 piece, small batch and high-volume mass production.
Q4: Can you perform air leak testing on these pneumatic coupling nipples?
A: Yes, leak testing is available as value-added inspection service upon request, to verify sealing performance for your fluid power assembly.
Q5: What drawing formats do you accept for quotation?
A: STEP, IGES, SolidWorks, DXF, DWG and PDF drawings. Samples are also acceptable if you do not have digital files.
Q6: What surface finishes can you provide?
A: As-machined brass, nickel plating, tin plating and passivation. Nickel plating improves wear resistance for frequent quick connect cycles.
